In the heart of this timeless city, next to the bustle of Bogyoke
AungSan Market, looking over the green roofs of the railway station,
the golden glitter of Sule Pagoda, the little streets with their
pastel coloured shophouses, and the ships riding at anchor in the
broad brown river, is the Traders Hotel.

At twenty-two storeys, the Traders Hotel, Yangon is one of the
tallest buildings in the city, making another prominent landmark
for those navigating their way on foot. Opened on 14th November
1996, the hotel has also become a landmark in another way: as a
prime meetings and hospitality center of the city.
The Traders Hotel is part of the Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts
Group and is a brand name initially created to offer accommodation
on a value-for-money basis but with the same level of service as
Shangri-La's luxury range of hotels. The first Traders opened in
Beijing in 1989, and the success of that first venture has quickly
led to other properties opening in other major cities in Asia.

Arrange to be met at Yangon airport, and a staff member will greet you personally. He will then whisk you the thirty-minute journey into town either in one of the distinctive red GLS Wagons, with its big comfortable seats and plenty of leg-room; or in one of Traders fleet of Mercedes Benz limousines.

Naturally, during your stay, any of these luxury vehicles together
with a driver is at your disposal. This is a perfect way of travelling
around a city which may be perplexing to a visitor, and as the drivers
are well-versed in the location of all the governmental departments
and in the whereabouts of commercial companies, this is the best
way to arrive in time for that meeting.
Afterwards, fancy a little sightseeing? Of course! Just leave it to your driver and he will take you in style around this intriguing, leafy city.
