Paritta (Dhamma) reciting ceremony was held in 1st day of Myanmar New Year at the many places of Myanmar in which many Buddhists live, by inviting the venerable monks. The blind physiotherapists at 'Genky' clinic held the Dhamma ceremony and prayed for safety, good health and wealth of all the people in the world.

News and headlines of the periodical journals and magazines are being occupied by the news of Thingyan water festival celebrated throughout Myanmar although after one week of New Year's day.

17th April was the New Year Day of Myanmar. Young people who had a good time during the water festival cut nails of the elderly and shampooed their hair. Pagodas and temples were packed with pilgrims. Animals were given sanctuary. People welcome the New Year doing meritorious deeds in line with Buddhist traditions.

Myanmar new year Thingyan holiday period are coming. Our company is situated in the building where there are shops for foodstuffs and shops are crowded with customers before new year festival and there is traffic jam since morning. Airport tax impose on Myanmar citizen increased to US$ 10 which is same amount impose on foreigner from 1st April 2011. In the past the airport tax imposed on Myanmar citizen is K3,000 (about US $3). Now the airport tax is paid at the airport and in the future the airport tax will be included in the air ticket price.

The 100th anniversary of St.Mary church in Yangon which is known that the largest one in Southeast Asia is celebrated on 8th December of this year. The structure of the building can resist the earthquake and there was no large damage in the past environmental disasters. It is known that the priests and the religious group from domestic as well as foreign are invited to St.Mary's 100th anniversary celebration.
