This is followed by the cool season which is short-lived. There are a lot of people who like the rainy season. Annual Autumn Festival of Japanese people took place at Kandawgyi Palace Hotel on 22nd September. A lot of people were present on the occasion despite bad weather. A free clinic opened to give treatments to pilgrims at the northern stairs way of Shwe Dagon Pagoda on August 28. Volunteers are giving treatments to the poor free of charge. Arrangements have been made to distribute medicines. The clinic is aimed to tackle the problem of shortage of blood during operations. This place will become a place to fulfill the need for blood from now on. People are hoped to cooperate in the project.

Number of passengers has recently increased on the commuter trains where there used to be few passengers even at rush hours. The increase is due to surge in bus fares.
