The rainy season is comming to an end. The weather has become pleasant with clear sky. The rainy season comes to a close at the second week of October. This is followed by the cool season which is short-lived. There are a lot of people who like the rainy season. But, others have their dislike for it saying it is difficult to dry clothes during this season. No matter it is the rainy season or cool season, all are welcome to Myanmar.

Annual Autumn Festival of Japanese people took place at Kandawgyi Palace Hotel on 22nd September. A lot of people were present on the occasion despite bad weather. For children, this was a long-awaited event because there is little entertainment for them in Myanmar. Adults happily accompanied the young to the roadside stalls that recalled happy memories. Such entertainment events are expected to take place more in the future.

Famous twin sisters Aye Aye Nyein and Ei Ei Nyein are making their debut acting in a drama on VCD. The conjoined twins became well-known after the very first successful operation in Myanmar 16 years ago. They respect each other although they have completely different character. The elder sister, a girl of few words, is very gentle and the younger one is vivacious. Their activities will be closely watched from now on.

We would like to introduce delicious hand-made apple pies available at reasonable price at Season Bakery, Dagon Shopping Centre. With soft outer layer and sweet apple jam inside, the taste of cinnamon spreads in the mouth when we take a bite of it. The outer layer becomes crispy when the pie is placed in a microwave oven. It also gives a different taste. The snack is sure to be popular among the people because it is priced reasonably at Kyat 300 a piece.

The final match between Myanmar Women's National Team and Thai National Team of the 3rd AFF Women's Championship took place on the September 15. Myanmar beat Thai 5-2. At the very moment of the victory, joy of Myanmar fans overwhelmed every household all over the country. Victory of Myanmar Women football players attract more attention compared to men football players. People have high expectation of the team. There will be more expectation of the team achieving more success in the future in the wake of the victory.

Evening courses in Japanese, Chinese, Korean and French will begin at Yangon University of Foreign Languages on October 1. Like Japan, people seeking jobs also need personal qualifications in Myanmar. Especially, knowledge of foreign languages can be said to be essential. It is a flexible programme for office workers because lectures start at 5 o'clock in the evening. Numerous people are hoped to join the programme.

A free clinic opened to give treatments to pilgrims at the northern stairs way of Shwe Dagon Pagoda on August 28. Volunteers are giving treatments to the poor free of charge. Arrangements have been made to distribute medicines. The clinic is aimed to tackle the problem of shortage of blood during operations. This place will become a place to fulfill the need for blood from now on. People are hoped to cooperate in the project.

Among them, Moe He Ko, Aye Myat Thu and Melody get attention of the people. It is hoped these actresses popular among young people will be able to show their talents.

Number of passengers has recently increased on the commuter trains where there used to be few passengers even at rush hours. The increase is due to surge in bus fares. The train fares only between 10 and 20 Kyatsre a good reason for the people to use it. Plans are reportedly being made to increase the number of trains. As a result, there are more potential commuters on trains.

A cash donation ceremony was held at Lotaya Thisa Aung Taw Mu Pagoda in North Dagon on September 2. As the last agenda of the ceremony, well-wisher U Thant Zin and Daw Swe Swe Win donated cash to renovate the umbrella and the upper part of the pagoda. It is believed that such a small pagoda brings happiness, pleasure and that it fulfills the wish of people.

Nikko Dream Wedding Fair organized by Hotel Nikko took place at Nikko Hotel on September 2. The fair highlighted wedding dresses. Not only Myanmar traditional wedding dresses but also European wedding dresses were on display. The fair especially attracted women audience. Numerous guests in attendance seemed to enjoy the show very much.
