You can view a big snake that is said to be 117 years old in Bago. The snake reportedly came to the city from Shan State six years ago. You can touch the reptile without any harm. The place is crowded with people who believe that their solemn wishes are fulfilled.

A "Mathoe Thin Gan" weaving competition will take place at Maha Zedi Pagoda in Bago on the fullmoon day of Tazaungmoon (November 4). "Mathoe Thin Gan" is yellow robe for monk or Buddha, woven, stitched and finished overnight during robe offering period. A total of 45 looms have been built for the competition. This competition is usually held annually.

The fourth of November is fullmoon day and it is "Robe offering day". On that day, provisions such as money, soaps, fans robes are carried through the city in procession and they are offered to monastries.
