Korean Air has been operating direct charter flights_Souel-Yangon-Souel_ between Souel and Yangon since May 24, 2006. Arrangements have been reportedly made for the flights to continue till early 2007.

Air Bagan has extended its operations from Yangon to Lashio, in northern Shan State since August 6. It operates on Yangon-Naypyidaw-Mandalay-Lashio route on Fridays and Sundays.

Pineapple from Thibaw in Shan states.They come into season from July to September.They are very sweet compared to other pineapples.One pineapple costs K400.

Malikha II exlpress ship will launch its operations with effect from August 19. It leaves Mandalay for Bagan on Wednesdays and Saturdays and Bagan for Mandalay on Thursdays and Sundays.

A seated Buddha image donated by actor Kyaw Hein was conveyed from Mandalay to Yangon. It has been placed at Botahtaung Pagoda in Yangon for worshipping. Kyaw Hein made devotional offering as a monk along the way of conveyance of the bronze image which is larger than average ones.

Parami CNG Taxis have been launched starting from 23rd July. For using the taxi,it costs K500 and K100 per mile. Arrangements are underway for taxis with taxi meter to operate in the future.
