Air Bagan is making arrangements to launch Royal Lotus Programme. The first CNG locomotives have been invented in Myanmar. Plans are underway for the lomomotives LRBE 22 and RBE 2505 to run as local tranis.

U Thu Kha, veteran director and writer, passed away at the age of 96 in Yangon on December 7. Dr. Than Tun, retired History Professor, died at the age of 83 in Mandalay on November 30. The demise of the two scholars is unreplacable loss for Myanmar people.

Plans are underway for Pandaw Luxury Ship to operate voyages along Chin Dwin River with effect from September, 2006 in addition to existing cruise along Ayeyarwady River. The itinerary will cover from Bagan to Mawlaik, in the upper reaches of Chin Dwin.
