Aureum Palace hotels are planned to open in Ngapali, Ngwe Saung and Bagan simultaneously in November, 2005. The five-star hotels are managed by Myanmar Treasure Hotel Group.

Inle Resort Hotel is sheduled to open on July 1. It is managed by the same owner of MandalayCity Hotel opened in September 2004. A ceremony to preview and present the hotel took place at the Traders Hotel, on June 21. Those present at the ceremony were given a small scaled model boat used for fishing in Inle Lake.

The first Myanmar Femal Singer Rock Concert took place at Strand Hotel in Yangon at 5:00 pm on June 18. Tickets cost 3000 K and 5000 K. Famous singer such as Kawni, She, Tin Zar Maw etc took part in the concert.

This is the scaled model of extension of Yangon International Air Port, which is a part of preparation for ASEAN Summit to be held late next year. The project started in April, 2003 is targeted to finish in June next year.

I came across edible bird-nests in a shop in downtown. They are regional products of Southern Myanmar.

"LOTAYA" Chinese and Shan Restaurant is located in Than Zay (Iron Market) in China Town. The specialty of the shop is Mye Oo Myee She`, a kind of noodles boiled and served in an earthenware pot. It costs K 700 per serving.

The movie "Chit Chin Nge Pyaing" was made by Director ( Kyi Soe Tun ). Some scenes of the new version of an old movie were shot in Japan. The movie with English subtitle will be on at the cinemas in Yangon next week.

State High Schools opened on June 1 as usual. Traffic jams are going to start infront of famous high schools.

Renovation work at Pyi Myanmar Department store has been finished. On completion of the work started in May, 2004, the building has become more beautiful. The scene along Pyay Road has changed a lot because of high rises built one after another.
