A beautiful restaurant opened in the last week of September. The the restaurant California Snack & Bar is managed by Koreans. But I don't think there is any Korean food. It is on the first floor of Pearl Condominium on the corner of Kaba Aye Pagoda Road and Saya San Road. The place can be a shopping spot in Yangon. Shops are opened one after another at the place. This is called country tea leave. Edible leaves (Kyat tet) are boiled. They are wrapped in In leaves and tied with bamboo strips so that no air comes in. Packets are put in water for several days and they are ready to serve. The difference is that it is not astringent. It originated from this nunnery. The nuns themselves made the tea to serve the congregations. Later, people follow this. Nunneries in Pyay made this kind of tea and jam. They are famous and delicious.

Betel quid is made of betel, betel leave and lime. It becomes vermilion colour while it is chewed. You can see red spit on roads. It is called Kun in Myanmar language. It is a difficult job to decrease smoking as well as betel chewing. Teeth of betel chewers are red. We can see the sign" Don't chew betel". But it is the first time for me to see a sign bearing" Don't spit betel". This photo was taken at a filling station. I warned three of my employees who chew betel. They seem to have difficulty giving up the habit. Although they don't chew in my presence……..(K.K)

All may agree if the actress Nanda Hlaing is said to be the most beautiful. I came across her three times. She is really beautiful. I don't think there is any such beautiful actress in Japan. She can maintain her rank between 3rd to 5th in TV commercials. Her ads are increasing whilst Htet Htet Moe Oo is facing a decline. Is there any actress who can compete her? I once thought about three or four actresses were beautiful. But, they couldn't catch up with Nandar Hlaing when they appear in a movie together. Htet Htet Moe Oo, if I remember right, wise Htet Htet Moe Oo never appears together with Nandar Hlaing in a movie or a commercial. (K.K)

Beautiful young models appear in Karaoke VCDs recently while Htet Htet Moe Oo is losing her place. Young new models are hired because of low price. This is resulting from all round economic declines. Young models such as Tin Moe Myint and Pa Pa Win Khin may become actresses.(K.K)

It has been a long time since I last watched Myanmar Television. Popularity of Htet Htet Moe Oo who has been appeared since 1997 seems to decline these days. When I made a trip to Thailand, the actress and I were on the same flight. She was said to undergo treatment at a famous hospital in Thailand. She used to appear in eight TV commercials out of ten. But now, she appears in two commercials out of two. That doesn't mean someone has taken the number one place. I don't think anyone can replace Htet Htet Moe Oo who has been a commercial queen.(K.K)
