Three new magazines have come out this month. One of them is "Idea" magazine. It came out on the same day with "Faces "Magazine. 350 Kyats per copy.

A magazine on Myanmar sports sector has come out at the beginning of June. It is Myanmar Fairways Golf Magazine. It carried various articles on history of golf, international golf, golf champions, systematic playing of golf, addresses of local golf courses and etc. It cost 500 Kyats a copy.

The new style of Mandalay Beer has come out. The taste is the same as before. The bottle has become a bit smaller. And the design of brand has changed. It cost 200 Kyats a bottle.

A body building and beauty contest was held in commemoration of Olympic Day at National Theater on 30 June. Such kinds of contests are usually sponsored by soft drink producers here. So, the contest was named "Ms Quench, Mr. Quench". Nay Chi Zaw Win won the first prize in beauty contest and U Bo Cho won the first prize in body building contest.

Cases of dengue disease caused by mosquitoes larva have increased in Yangon recently. Previously, the disease was common with children. But, recently adults were found to suffer from the disease.

A ceremony was held to mark changing of the name "Ramada Hotel" to "Seasons of Yangon" in the evening on 29th June. The buffet dinner was accompanied by stages show. There were more people from other companies than tour companies.

'Zoological Garden Amusement Park' is located in the compound zoological garden in Bahan, ten minutes drive from downtown. It opens from 8 am to 9 pm. While visiting the zoo, visitors can have a good time playing games. Some interesting games are somersault rocket, astroswinger, roller coaster, super dragon, bumping car, twister, new enterprise and etc. Moreover, you can take a horse cart ride that is a little difficult to find in Yangon. It clst 500 Kyats a ride around the zoo. There are more interesting, funny games in this park than others. Admission fee is 30 Kyats per head.

'Happy World Playing Ground' is located near Southern Stairway of Shwedagon Pagoda. It can be reach from the gate near Hong Kong Style Shan Kan Restraunt. It is located in Kandaw Mingalar Park. Although it is not very wide, there are many interesting things. There is a figure of ghost going up and down near the entrance. There are happy train, happy ball, Ferris Wheel for children, small maze train and etc, Hightlight is Horror train. A ride takes you to scary places, It costs 250 Kyats 2 seats. As it is a park, there are many couples. It opens 8:30 am to 8:30 pm. Admission os 10 Kyats per head. Parking fee is 25 Kyats. It opens everydays.

'View point' amusement park is situated in Thaketa Township, near Bago river, across Maha Bandoola a beautiful bridge. There are about 14 games, airgun, roller coaster, space car, merry train, racing car, seek novelty in dream. The most popular game is crocodile water sking. It cost 150 Kyats a ride. Families, friends frequent here than couples. Parking fee for a car 25 Kyats an hour. Admission fee is 10 Kyats per head. Foreigners 1$. It opens from 8 am-8 pm.

Ramada Hotel has changed the name to 'Season of Yangon' in last month. This one is about Hotel Equatorial, 10 minutes' walk from downtown. The hotel has changed its name to 'Sofital Plaza Yangon'. Both the hotel and Novotel Hotel in Mandalay, are managed by Accor Group from France.

Sakura Tower is opposite Traders Hotel near Cafe Aroma. On the ground floor is Hitachi Showroom and TG office. Sakura Cafe is on the second floor. Target consumers is foreigners. It is a bit expensive that ordinary shops. It opens 9am to 6pm. It is manage by Japanese men of Sakura Tower. It closes on Sunday.

Mya Kyun Thar is located at Sedona Hotel. It is on islands in Inya Lake between Pyay road and Kaba Aye Pagoda Road. There are playing ground, restaurants and roads to take a walk. Games are water sliding, bumping car, carousel, Ferris Wheel, indoor game centre and etc. In other parks, there is no tax for cameras. But, in this park, tax for cameras range from 100 to 500 Kyats. A vedio camera may cost from 5000 to 10000 Kyats. Car park is a bit rough. Admission fee is 15 Kyats per head. There are Ferris Wheels only in this park and Shu Khin thar park. Parking fee is 25 Kyats.

Two new aircraft of Myanmar Airways International, Air Bus 321 and Boeing 737-300, made maiden flights to Bangkok and Singapore on 5 July. The 126 seater Boeing aircraft and 156 seater Air Bus arrived here recently.

Recently, we could see ripe mangoes everywhere. They used mangoes as desserts after meals when the rainy season comes. Welcome juices are made of seasonal fruits in some hotels in Myanmar. It costs about 60 kyats a mango.

Among young actors, Min Maw Kun is a talented one. He appeared in an advertisement of Hong Kong fashion maker Giordano. He appeared in the ad "For fathers" together with his father actor Zin Waing who won an academy award two years ago. It was not on TV but in newspapers and magazines. Is that an advertising campaign which doesn't appear on TV?

The highlight among actors is Dwe and Lwin Moe. It is said that Lwin Moe became king of commercial with a smiling face, active character and rhythmic sense. And he won a prize in Academy Award Presenting Ceremony last year.

Let me introduce you to the two new actresses who had become popular recently. Of the two beautiful sisters, the younger was chosen as Ms Christmas in 1999. (Eindra Kyaw Zin in 1997). After that she become popular. She is Aye Wutyi Thaung. Another is Gandawin with fair complexion. She might be a mixed Chinese. She appeared wearing a smile on a 5-metre-billboard near Myenigon traffic lights.

After the rainy season came in, commercials of pesticides and fertilizers were broadcast successively everyday hailing cultivation season. There were many good things in these commercials. Recently, top three of commercial world - Htet Htet Moe Oo, Eindra Kyaw Zin and Khaing Thin Kyi acted in various interesting commercials. Among them, Htet Htet Moe Oo acted in Golden Lion fertilizer commercial together with the actor Kyaw Hein. CM queen Htet Htet Moe Oo has not changed. But, Eindra Kyaw Zin over took Khaing Thin Kyi and was in the second position. New commercial of Soe Myat Nanda who was in the third place last year has not come out.

Nanda Hlaing appeared in commercial of Mono cleanser. It was an imitation of cleanser from Japan. To have a close look at it, she put on the kimono that she put on commercial of Yoshiko. They might be shot in the same day, after changing her hairstyle. But in both commercials, the position of collar and the way she put on was wrong. In covering the kimono the right and the left were wrong in opposite position. Also, in the commercial of a pesticide, Htet Htet Moe Oo appeared in a Karate suit. The wrong right side of the suit was on the left. That style was for donning a dead body with a white kimono. That was a great mistake. Moreover, in other commercials in which actresses appeared in kimonos, the way they wore them was wrong. Why was it that?

There were more commercials of umbrellas two months after the rainy season came. New products by Japanese names came out. But, generally, they were not made in Japan. One among them was Yoshiko umbrella. The umbrella in Myanmar generally took Japanese names. In commercial of Yoshiko, a beautiful actress Nanda Hlaing acted in Kimono. The song Sukiyaki was used in it.
