Today, we went out to see dance of main actor at midnight. When we entered the temparory theatre. There were about 1500-2000 audience in the theatre. At about 4 am the dance show of main actor started.

Shwe Mann Theatre was the highest one at Kyaik Khauk Pagoda Festival. The head perfomer was Maung Chan Tha and other players were two nephew of his. "Shwe Mann" was named after late father of his Shwe Mann Tin Maung. The main show was dances of the main actor. It was said to start at 3 am. We went there and stayed there till 1 am. But at last we went back home, thinking of thing tobe done the next day.

This was festival of Kyaik Khauk Pagoda. This was for the first time for me to have a chance to see great festival. I went there for three times in the afternoon and in the evening. But there were more people in the evening. There were man powered whells, road side stalls, tea shops, restaurants, elephant dance show, stage-show and movie-shows at the festival. There were many Thanakha(atree bark for facial apply). Thousands of people came here. There were also temporary clinic.

An art show was held at Lawkanet Gallery in Pansodan Street the other day. An artist from Mandalay and a photographer exhibited their work at the show. Their work were also on sale. Prices range from 5000 Kyats to 30000. Artist is Kan Chun and photographers are Naung U Than Htay and others.

This is the scene of roads in downtown Yangon. This photograph is taken from a pagoda. A weighing machine is placed on roads where people often pass. It costs 5 kyats to know your body weight. A sales girl is falling asleep just afternoon because customers are very few at this hour. Is she waiting for luck while sleeping.

This is the place where Toyota Show Room is located. When I passed driving, I saw a signboard which says "House For Sale". I entered the house to ask the price because I liked the house built a long time ago. There was also a signboard on the wall of upstairs which says "This House is not for sale at all". Therefore, I looked at the first one (House For Sale) again. When I asked the gardener, he said that there was a disagreement between the owners of ground floor and first floor. The former wanted to sell but the latter didn't. That was a problem of heritage.

Carving of Lawkachantha Abayalabamuni marble image is almost finished. Various buildings and covered stair ways are under construction. Stucco work for traditional decoration are also under way here. This is the scence of making decoration in mould.

This is a village which is three hours drive from Bagan. It is called Kyobintha. There is water shortage for it is dry season. The water in the lake has become less. Japanese NGO, BAJ (Bridge Asia Japan) has been carrying out tasks to dig 30 tube wells in this region. Six wells have been already dug. The village is also one of the villages include in the project. But I don't know when the work will start in this village.

The trishaw man took me to potters in Twantay when I said I wanted to study pottery. There, a couple were at work. Wife turned the wheel and husband made a pot in every five minutes. I was very surprised on hearing that it costs only 2 Kyats. It is impossible to express equivalent amount of it in US $ because it is too cheap.

This is the scene of Dala (country side of other side of the river) taken from the highest place. There are many high rise building in downtown Yangon. But there are no building higher than 3- story yet. Twan Tay Township where you can study pottery can be reached in one and half hour by car.

There are many curried rice shops on Maha Ban Doola Road. But Nwe Moe Saung Food Centre is located in Bo Aung Kyaw Street. Waiters in uniforms are working actively. It costs 200 Kyats a serving. A companion of mine could eat three servings. About twenty fans are installed on the wall. It really is an Indian Restaurant.

A dog contest was held recently in Yangon. When I take a walk with my pet dog, I rarely see the German shepherd and Dalmatian. There are two or three pet shops in Yangon. This picture is of my pet dog that I brought from Japan and my pet cat.

The dry season will come after Chinese New Year. You can see strawberry in Pyin Oo Lwin (May Myo) which is two hours’ drive from Mandalay. I saw strawberry on sale near Bogyoke Market in down town Yangon. They were rather small.

We can hardly see flowers of Sal tree (Shorea robusta). This photo was taken in a temple in Twan Tway. Flowers are blooming at both the upward branches and down ward branches.

It is located at the place opposite of Yangon University of Foreign Languages. It is not a new one. We can have lunch peacefully when shops in the university are crowded with customers in the afternoon. But, it cost 30 kyats a cup of coffee, but it costs 500 kyats here in this shop. There is peacock in the front yard of the shop.

The name of this tree is India Nyaung Bin (Banyan tree). It is called Nyaung Bin. Our office building is also called Nyaung Bin Plaza. It may be named after the trees which were abdunt here before. It is said the Buddha attained Enlightenment under a Banyan tree.

This is the scene of Yangon harbour. These things are canes on the earth. They are washed cleanly and made various kinds of furniture and exported to foreign countries.

Leaves of all trees are falling down. Although I heard there was no such trees before, leaves of this tree have fallen down. And so have the stems. This is tamarind tree. The fruit is a bit sour.

Japanese restaurant Oshin has been opened at Summit Parkview Hotel. Japanese buffet was served at 7 pm on 27th January. It costs 1800 kyats a person. There are Japanese restaurant at Traders ( Tategoto restaurant ), Equatorial Hotel ( Kanpachi restaurant ) and Nikko Hotel ( Benkei restaurant ).

November and December is the month in which the dogs are born. This dog is about two months. Although it has no owner, it has become fat for I feed it milk.

This is called (Gaung Shaw Saing) in Myanmar. Hair dressing saloon. No need to tell that we can have our hair cut here. They give a massage to neck and shoulder while having your hair shampooed. Buddha teaching also say, that by shampooing other's hair, one can get merit. Girl employees are active. And coffee and tea are served. It costs 800-900 Kyats an hour.

There are two bowling centers in Yangon. One of them is at ThaKeta View Point Recreation Center run by Singaporean Entrepreneurs. This center Right Bowling is run by Korean business man. It costs 200 kyats a game. Shoes and other gears are better at this center. It is locate in U Ba Kyaw Street Tamwelay, Tel 571705.
