The Student Who Is Understandable For His Teacher By all means, student is an archaic word. As a Myanmar man, that word is similar to the current word. There are several people who call it like this. It is strange that they are of the same meaning. The sense used in the countries in the South is really match. By looking at them, they seem to be the past scenery of Japan. I feel as if I were fascinated by them. All the grown-ups in Myanmar are seen wrapping round their waists with clothes called "Longyi". The wearing of "Longyi" is a quite different between man & woman. The prescribed rules are respectively. We are always dealing with men, so they wear Longyi at the waists. Regarding the clothes, if we add a little piece of cloth to the bottom part of the Longyi, it will be more like a Japanese unlike a Myanmar. Especially, Myanmar students hold & hug their books, etc. wearing white shirts. They assume an air of students not like those of past years. There are two men in the Japanese language section at that school. The two persons are quite different from each other in peculiar style. Considering all things, they must have peculiar features. One person is tall and of brownish complexion. He is stalwart & knows the Japanese Language. He is fluent in Japanese. The other is short, and he doesn't know the language. He is hardly fair complexioned. His face is full of worries. I always keep company with them. When I have to go to downtown, the lanky man comes to see me as an errand boy. He will do errands for going post offices & government offices. Another thickset man works for me to go to the school and to come back. This kind of behavior will be surly different in Myanmar. It will be quite a peculiar practice. Unlike in Japan a driver must only drive and an errand boy will ride the car. Once on my way from school, I bought a loaf of bread from a Super Market. While I was waiting to pay the bill, all of a sudden he came and grabbed my bread from my hand. But I have no mind to be angry. His sudden arrival and such an impudent action made one feel surprised. Nevertheless, I could make the situation good. Looking at him from a rosy point of view, it would be a really ludicrous view. I walked towards the door and had to grin and bear it. As soon as I came outside, that time Jeep came suddenly near me. © Suzuki Yoshio |
